THE WEDDING AT CANA
Jesus performed his first miracle at a wedding celebration (John 2:1-11). In those days wedding celebrations went for days, and the bridegroom was responsible for the food and drink, in part his first responsibility to his new wife and their families. But they ran out of wine early, potentially shaming the groom terribly. Jesus intervened and miraculously turned 120 or more gallons of water into fine wine. He is the bridegroom of the church, and she is his bride, so it is fitting in a way that his first miracle should be to preserve a wedding celebration, foreshadowing the never ending joyful celebration that those who place their trust in him can join (Revelation 19:6-8, 9). Be Part of That!

PRAYERS FOR THE PANDEMIC
O MOST mighty and merciful God, in this time of grievous sickness, we flee unto thee for succour. Deliver us, we beseech thee, from our peril; give strength and skill to all those who minister to the sick; prosper the means made use of for their cure; and grant that, perceiving how frail and uncertain our life is, we may apply our hearts unto that heavenly wisdom which leadeth to eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. THE 1928 BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER

Prayer is essential
35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Mk.1:35
Some of God’s children are just too busy. Even if you are extremely busy in the service of the Lord but are not supported by the power of faithful prayer at while you work, you run the risk of complete burnout of your spiritual life. You cannot fulfill your spiritual duty without prayer.
Prayer is the encouragement and inspiration for Christian service. It gives sincerity to everything that you embark on in the Master’s name and give you a deep satisfaction that you cannot get from any other source.
